LAWRENCE — As the two teams left the court and headed their separate ways, their moods couldn’t have been any different.
In the visitors’ locker room there were sounds of clapping and shouts of elation. Kansas State didn’t play its best on Saturday, but the Wildcats came away with enough plays to earn a grind-it-out, 61-54 win over Kansas in Allen Fieldhouse.
On the other side, there were some smiles as senior day festivities began, but the emotions of the moment began to show during the postgame news conference.
