MANHATTAN — After trimming a 15-point, third-quarter deficit to three points with just over a minute to play, the Kansas State women committed two quick turnovers that ruined their resurgence and led to an 84-79 loss to Iowa State on Wednesday in their Big 12 opener at Bramlage Coliseum.
K-State used a 13-5 run to pull within three in the waning seconds, but the Wildcats were called for charging and an illegal screen in back-to-back possessions, allowing the Cyclones to expand their lead to four.
“We dug the hole, so that’s what we put ourselves in,” K-State coach Jeff Mittie said.
