Despite Carolina Costamagna and Millie Stretton picking up a doubles win over a ranked opponent, No. 70 Kansas State lost to No. 50 Columbia, 6-1, on Friday at the Dick Savitt Tennis Center in the first of this weekend’s back-to-back matches.
The Wildcats began the dual winning the doubles point when Costamagna and Stretton topped No. 57 Rima Asatrian and Alexandria Solovyev 7-6 (4) in the No. 1 position.
K-State went on to clinch the point when Sara Castellano and Palma Juhasz earned the victory in the No. 3 position, taking down Andrea Kevakian and Star Makarome 6-2.
