The world is a strange place, and too often, it is a terrible place. In Paris yesterday, a group of humans subjected their fellow humans to a night of inexplicable violence and cruelty (The Atlantic Monthly). It was as unfathomable as it was horrifying, a stark reminder that the line between the safety we take mostly for granted and the danger we can't quite imagine is thin indeed. Our thoughts are with Paris. Aujourd'hui nous sommes tous français.
Closer to home, our friends at Missouri, already struggling to make sense of the events of the past week, were dealt another blow.
