Playing high school basketball in the state of Florida, the recruiting interest Brian Patrick was receiving came primarily from colleges in the south.
Schools such as Murray State, Florida Gulf Coast, Charleston Southern Chattanooga and Georgia showed interest in Patrick, a 6-foot-5 shooting guard.
One day through social media, Kansas State popped up on Patrick’s radar when Wildcats assistant coach Chester Frazier made contact.
“It was a big surprise,” Patrick said. “One day he hit me up on Twitter and said he liked my game and that they were in need of shooters up there.”
K-State was certainly looking for perimeter scoring in its 2016 recruiting class and believes it filled that need when Patrick signed a letter of intent Wednesday.
