K-State seeking bowl berth with third straight win

MANHATTAN — Kansas State’s football team plans to play in a bowl game, and to do so the Wildcats don’t want to back their way in.

With a 5-6 record, K-State needs a victory over West Virginia on Saturday to become bowl eligible. If that happens, after enduring a six-game losing streak, the Wildcats would become only the sixth Power 5 team since the advent of the 12-game schedule in 2006 to qualify after facing elimination in three straight games.

“We have had dialogue with our players in regards to what finishing the season the appropriate way would mean in regards to that turnaround,” coach Bill Snyder said Tuesday.
