K-State rowing claims silver, bronze medals in Florida regatta

The Kansas State women’s rowing team made its first-ever trip to the state of Florida a memorable one, as the team’s 2V8 and 3V8 each claimed medals after a successful two days of racing at the Sunshine State Invitational in Sarasota, Florida. K-State’s 3V8 headlined the weekend with a silver medal in Saturday’s finals, while the 2V8 recorded a bronze-medal finish in its final race of the weekend. The 2V4 finished in fourth place overall, while the 1V8 and 1V4 each recorded fifth-place finishes. “The team is coming away from this weekend’s regatta learning a lot more,” head coach Patrick Sweeney said.
