K-State quarterback Joe Hubener describes concussion protocol procedure

MANHATTAN — In order to return to the game after taking a hit to the head on the opening series last Saturday, Kansas State quarterback Joe Hubener had to pass a concussion protocol test that would be difficult for anyone who wasn’t woozy.

Hubener passed the series of tests and was allowed to return the game, and Tuesday he showed no ill effects other than the disappointment of losing the game at Oklahoma State 36-34.

Hubener was hit by Cowboys safety Tre Flowers as he slid at the end of a 6-yard scramble on K-State’s fifth play of the game.
