MANHATTAN — Kansas State President Richard Myers has formed an eight-member search committee to help him select the university’s next athletic director, Myers announced Thursday through a K-State news release.
Myers appointed K-State Alumni Association President and CEO Amy Button Renz to chair the committee, which will be comprised of faculty, students, alumni and athletics representatives. The committee will begin work immediately on a national search to find a replacement for John Currie, who announced Tuesday he was leaving K-State to become AD and Vice Chancellor at Tennessee.
Laird Veatch, K-State deputy athletic director and a former Wildcat football player, is serving as the school’s acting AD while the search is ongoing.
