Athletes must not fear failure to be able to succeed at a high level, according to Wildcat Olympians who spoke at the university Thursday.
Four former K-State athletes who went on to compete in the Olympic Games spoke to an audience at the Staley School of Leadership about their experiences dealing with failure. The forum is the first of a three-part K-State Olympic panel series.
The panel included Erik Kynard, who earned silver in high jump in 2012; Thane Baker, who earned gold, two silvers and a bronze in sprinting events during the 1952 and 1956 games; Akela Jones, who participated in the 2016 heptathlon; and Ed Broxterman, who participated in the 1996 high jump.
