STILLWATER, Okla. — At times Saturday, particularly in the first half, Kansas State’s offense looked better than it has all season.
In the third quarter, the offense was non-existent.
The fourth quarter was a mixed bag, and the inconsistency resulted in a 36-34 loss for the Wildcats at No. 20 Oklahoma State.
“You have to make more plays,” said Wildcats running back Justin Silmon, who had 15 rushing attempts for 50 yards. “We made a lot of plays tonight but not enough to win.”
With a wide receiver turned fifth-string quarterback forced into action, Kody Cook filled in for the injured Joe Hubener and put touchdowns on the scoreboard his first two series and led K-State to a 28-0 halftime lead.
