Justin Edwards had just played arguably the best game of his two-year Kansas State career. He didn’t want it to be his last game as a Wildcat.
Edwards scored 23 points with 10 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals in an 85-63 loss to No. 1 Kansas in the Big 12 Tournament quarterfinals on Thursday, then the waiting began for K-State to find out its postseason fate.
“I want to play as long as I can,” Edwards said inside the K-State locker room at Sprint Center. “I don’t want the season to be done, yet.”
The Wildcats have been lobbying for a spot in the NIT, but they were not among the 32 teams in the bracket announced Sunday.
