The K-State men’s club lacrosse team hosted the Tillar Classic Tournament at Memorial Stadium last weekend.
The tournament was set up in a round robin format with teams from Saint Mary, Benedictine and Creighton. K-State finished second after defeating Benedictine 5-2 and Creighton 5-3. The team faced a tough 4-6 loss to the tournament champion, Saint Mary.
Last year, K-State lost in the regular season to both Saint Mary (11-15) and Creighton (14-15).
The Wildcats are looking to improve from last year’s 1-8 record.
“I felt we vastly improved in a lot of areas from last year and the short time we have been practicing and that when faced with adversity, we responded well and never quit,” head coach Tyler Tunnell said.
