K-State looks to fill major void at wide receiver

MANHATTAN — Perhaps the boldest statement made by any Kansas State football player at the recent media day came from wide receiver Kody Cook.

The Wildcats’ receiving positions are a major question following the graduation of Tyler Lockett and Curry Sexton — both 1,000-yard receivers last season — but Cook wasn’t shy about his assessment.

“I think as a group that our receiving corps is just as good,” Cook said.

The Wildcats certainly won’t have an established go-to receiver like Lockett, a third-round draft pick by the Seattle Seahawks. Instead, it may be production by committee with a handful of potential targets.
