MANHATTAN, Kan.
Kansas State started its football season in the best way possible Saturday when Morgan Burns returned the opening kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown against South Dakota. The Wildcats went on to take a 24-0 halftime lead and now appear on their way to a carefree victory, but things have not gone perfectly for Bill Snyder’s team.
Starting quarterback Jesse Ertz suffered an undisclosed injury on his first play of the night, a five-yard rush to the left behind two lead blockers, and limped his way to the huddle for the next snap.
