K-State ironing out kinks to make offense more timely

MANHATTAN — The problems Kansas State had getting its offense started last Saturday against West Virginia were evident.

At times it took too long to get plays in to quarterback Jesse Ertz. The Wildcats were often late breaking the huddle and there were communication issues when Ertz changed plays at the line. That led to burned timeouts and penalties for delay of game and illegal substitution in the 17-16 road loss.

The solution, according to Wildcats coach Bill Snyder, is more focus, preparation and discipline.

“There’s two different elements,” Snyder said Tuesday at his weekly media session.
