MANHATTAN — It’s an early wake-up call for Kansas State’s football team Saturday morning for an 11 a.m. kickoff against Iowa State. Perhaps the alarm clock will awaken the Wildcats from their recent trend of sleep-walking through the early stages of games.
In their first two Big 12 Conference games against Oklahoma State and TCU, the Wildcats started fast and held halftime leads only to fade in the second half. In the past four games, it’s been the reverse scenario as K-State fell behind early and couldn’t catch up.
“There are some games we have not finished like we should against the Oklahoma States and TCUs and Baylor, but our problem this past week and a couple of occasions is we didn’t start very well,” coach Bill Snyder said.
