KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A close game finally went Kansas State’s way, but it was a tight finish that it allowed to occur.
K-State turned in a dominating first half against Oklahoma State in the Big 12 Tournament, leading by 18 points at one time and by 17 at halftime. The lead disappeared in the second half, and by making only 6 of 12 free throws over the final 1:36 the Wildcats made it a tense finish in a 75-71 victory Wednesday at Sprint Center.
“Late in the game we have to lock in and knock our free throws down,” said forward Wesley Iwundu, who was 1 of 4 in that late stretch.
