K-State has enough offense to hold off Columbia

MANHATTAN — Kansas State coach Bruce Weber stresses the need for consistency from his basketball team, particularly on offense.

Consistency is a hard commodity to find, especially early in the season as the Wildcats discovered Monday. At times their offense was sensational, but there were also stretches of stagnant, sloppy play in an 81-71 victory over Columbia at Bramlage Coliseum.

Wesley Iwundu, Stephen Hurt, Justin Edwards and Dean Wade all had stretches of effective offense only to disappear for long segments of the game.

Still, the Wildcats had enough shining moments to get past the Lions.
