After his team eked out a 5-4 win over Wichita State on Tuesday, Kansas State baseball coach Brad Hill joked about the Wildcats playing it close on his birthday.
K-State led 5-1 at one point at Tointon Family Stadium, but had to get out of a jam in the ninth to survive for the win.
“Made it interesting,” Hill said. “Why not? It’s my birthday. It makes you go from 55 to 60 real quick.”
Hill, who turned 55 years old on Tuesday, watched his team’s two-run lead dwindle to one run in the ninth after reliever Jordan Floyd walked the first two batters of the inning.
