In some ways, Kansas State’s series-clinching 10-4 win over Baylor on Sunday at Tointon Family Stadium was a continued relief of the doldrums facing the Wildcats no less than three weeks ago.
Looking down the gun at the possibility of three straight series sweeps to open up conference play, a series-salvaging win two Sundays prior versus Texas set the Wildcats back in the right direction.
“We had a tough streak,” junior first baseman Jake Scudder said. “But I think as a team we’ve kept our morale pretty good so far throughout this year. We’ve had some really tough losses, but our level of play really hasn’t been up or down too much.
