MANHATTAN — The list of injuries that took on epidemic proportions on Kansas State’s football team has been well documented. From the first game when quarterback Jesse Ertz and strong safety Dante Barnett went down with season-ending injuries, the Wildcats sustained a variety of ailments that sidelined players for varying time periods.
K-State isn’t alone in that situation. Injuries are a part of the game and affect every team on every level. Along with the physical ailments, though, the Wildcats endured numerous emotional circumstances with the death of four player’s parents.
Will Geary, a sophomore defensive tackle from Topeka, lost his father, Mike, in the offseason last February.
