KANSAS CITY, MO. — In a back-and-forth game of runs, North Carolina had the last big one to pull out an 80-70 victory over Kansas State in the championship game of the CBE Hall of Fame Classic on Tuesday at Sprint Center.
K-State held an eight-point lead with 4:21 remaining but was outscored 21-3 the rest of the way by the No. 9 Tar Heels.
Freshman guard Kamau Stokes made 6 of 8 3-pointers to score 24 points for the Wildcats (4-1) while Justin Edwards had 10 points and seven rebounds.
