LUBBOCK, Texas — Kansas State was looking for a measure of validation.
After taking Kansas to the wire a week ago, K-State entered the national rankings at No. 25 on Monday and Tuesday was in search of a much-need road victory.
In a tense, tight game, the Wildcats led by four points with 2:37 remaining but crumbled down the stretch as Texas Tech pulled out a 66-65 victory at United Supermarkets Arena.
Tech’s Keenan Evans scored with 14 second left to give Tech a 63-62 lead, and after K-State’s Barry Brown missed a shot the Red Raiders secured the win with four free throws, including a technical on K-State coach Bruce Weber with 5.
