K-State equestrian opens season with win

Brookings, S.D.— The K-State equestrian team prospered in their first road meet of the season on Saturday afternoon at DeHaan Equestrian Center, as Kansas State defeated South Dakota State in a head-to-head battle, 11-8.

The Wildcats clinched the wins in the Hunt Seat and Western arena in today’s matchup against SDSU: Hunt Seat, 6-4, and in Western, 5-4.

Seven of the 11 points came from the upperclassmen leadership in today’s match up.

The Wildcats took home two out of the four Most Outstanding Performer (MOP) honors. In Equitation over Fences: sophomore Molly Dunn and in Horsemanship senior Emily Castellini.
