The Kansas State baseball team surrendered six runs in the fifth inning to break open a tie game, and allowed No. 11 TCU to sweep the Wildcats after Saturday’s 9-3 loss at Lupton Stadium.
Despite the tough weekend, the Wildcats still managed to secure the No. 8 seed at the Big 12 Championship this week, where they will face top-seeded Texas Tech on Wednesday in Oklahoma City.
K-State (26-29, 8-16 Big 12) scored first in Saturday’s loss, which it did in all three games of the series, but the Horned Frogs (38-14, 15-9 Big 12) evened it in the fourth before putting up the crooked fifth to decide the game.
