Kansas State kept its postseason hopes alive Friday with a day-night doubleheader sweep of Baylor.
But a pair of wins from Oklahoma State on Saturday ended the Wildcats’ season.
K-State (29-26, 8-16 Big 12) won a see-saw affair in Game 1 before holding on for a one-run victory in the nightcap over Baylor (3419, 12-12). The pair of wins moved the Wildcats into sole possession of eighth place ahead of Oklahoma State for the final spot in the upcoming Big 12 tournament. The Cowboys swept Oklahoma in a rain-shortened two-game series on Saturday to take the final spot in the tournament field.
