Duke Shelley, a senior defensive back with the Kansas State football team, was arrested for failure to appear late Tuesday morning in Manhattan.
Riley County Police arrested Shelley at 11:04 a.m. in the 1400 block of College Avenue. He was not confined after paying his bond of $500.
Police responded to a warrant issued for Shelley by Manhattan Municipal Court for two unpaid traffic tickets. They were for driving without proof of liability insurance and having expired tags or an unregistered vehicle, according to RCPD spokesperson Hali Rowland.
A spokesman for the K-State football team said the Wildcats were aware of the arrest and will handle the matter internally.
