K-State defense shuts down Ole Miss guard Moody

MANHATTAN — A prolific scorer such as Stefan Moody of Ole Miss will get his points but if a defense can prevent him from exploding and even hold him under his average, it has done its job.

That was Kansas State’s plan of attack against Moody, the nation’s No. 6 scorer with a 24.3 average. The 5-foot-10 guard was harassed by three different Wildcat defenders and scored a season-low 10 points on 3-of-6 shooting — all in the first half — in K-State’s 69-64 victory in the Big 12/SEC Challenge on Saturday at Bramlage Coliseum.

“We said we’re going to make him pass,” K-State coach Bruce Weber said.
