K-State cross country, tennis record several top-five finishes

The Kansas State women’s tennis team had a fairly successful showing at the OU Fall Invite tennis tournament in Norman, Oklahoma this past weekend.

Sophomore Sara Castellano and freshman Ana Garcia Navas each won three matches. Castellano bested TCU’s Alexis Pereria by a score of 6-2,6-3 to capture the third place spot in the Boomer Draw.

Garcia Navas, meanwhile, tallied a victory over TCU’s Olaya Garrido-Rivas, 5-7, 6-2, 6-2.

As for doubles, the team of junior Iva Bago and sophomore Carolina Costamagna won three of their four matches this weekend, defeating North Texas’ Anastasiya Shestikova and Agustina Valenzuela 6-4.
