Last week, Kansas State head coach Bill Snyder’s made a rare in-person visit to 2016 K-State verbal commit Zach Shackelford to try and fend off the advances of Texas, which was also heavily recruiting the 3-star offensive lineman.
But Shackelford flipped his commitment anyway, choosing the Longhorns over K-State after an official visit to Texas over the weekend. He verbally committed to play for the Wildcats in July.
Shackelford is the third recruit in this class to choose another school after committing to the Wildcats, joining Wichita East defensive end Xavier Kelly (Clemson) and St. Louis running back Tre Bryant (Nebraska).
