MANHATTAN — The big hit and the big pitch had eluded Kansas State’s baseball team, preventing the Wildcats from posting a Big 12 Conference victory.
K-State finally came through, scoring one run in the bottom of the seventh and two in the eighth for a 3-2 victory over Texas on Sunday at Tointon Family Stadium.
The win kept the Wildcats (14-19, 1-9 Big 12) from being swept in a third straight conference series.
“You try not to look at the record,” K-State coach Brad Hill said. “Where we’re at, you just try to play each day.
