K-State beats Lamar, 68-43, despite turnovers

Kansas State women’s basketball coach Jeff Mittie thought his team would have some issues with Lamar on Sunday.

He was right.

The Wildcats (3-0) won, 68-43, but struggled at times with turnovers and Lamar’s scrappy style of play.

K-State recorded 22 turnovers, with 12 coming in the second half. Lamar outscored K-State, 10-8, in the third quarter.

“We need to play better,” Mittie said. “I think the opportunity was there for us to really push this thing into the 90s, and because we didn’t handle that pressure very well and had too many turnovers, we weren’t able to do that … We just didn’t have an easy flow to the offense in the second half.
