MANHATTAN — Kansas State had Carolina on its mind, just not the right Carolina.
Coming off a disappointing loss to No. 9 North Carolina in which it squandered a late lead, the Wildcats took on South Carolina State on Sunday and had nowhere near the same energy.
It was a struggle, but K-State managed to pull out a 68-66 victory over the Bulldogs at Bramlage Coliseum.
“You know you’re going to have games like this and you hope it doesn’t happen,” Wildcats coach Bruce Weber said. “We talked about it a lot since we got back from Kansas City.
