The Kansas State basketball team gained its first 2019 recruit on Thursday night when Montavious Murphy orally committed to the Wildcats.
Murphy, a 6-foot-8 forward from Spring, Texas, announced his decision on Twitter.
He also had scholarship offers from Houston, Texas A&M, Tulsa and several smaller schools.

Murphy is a three-star recruit, according to both Rivals and 247Sports. He is a versatile player, capable of playing both small forward and power forward when he arrives at K-State.
