Kansas State had gone heavy on guards in its 2015 basketball recruiting class and, needing some size, signed 6-foot-9 forward Isaiah Maurice on Monday.
“We were in need of a big man and he has all the qualities you want with his versatility, length and size,” K-State coach Bruce Weber said. “He also has the ability and skill level to step out on the court and make shots.”
Maurice is from South Hill, Va., and played the past two seasons at Bull City Prep in Durham, N.C. The 215-pound power forward, a Rivals three-star prospect, averaged 21 points and 10 rebounds this past season.
