RIVERSIDE, Calif. — The Kansas State baseball team closed a three-run deficit to one with the help of five walks in the eighth inning, but UC Riverside answered with a pair of runs in the bottom half of the frame to help hand the Wildcats a 6-3 loss on Saturday at the Riverside Sports Complex.
K-State (1-1), which had four walks in the first 16 innings of the season, drew two of its five free passes in the eighth with the bases loaded and two outs as UC Riverside (1-1) turned to its bullpen for the first time.
