MANHATTAN — Mitch Gaspard, head baseball coach at Alabama the previous seven years, was hired by Kansas State as associate head coach/offensive coordinator, Wildcats coach Brad Hill announced Monday.
Gaspard led Alabama to four NCAA Regionals and the Super Regional in 2010 but resigned last May after the Crimson Tide did not advance to the postseason for the second year in a row.
Gaspard has been a college coach for 29 years, 13 years as a head coach with six years at Northwestern State and a career record of 439-326. He was an assistant at Alabama from 1995-2001 when the Tide made three trips to the College World Series.
