MANHATTAN — Del Miller, the first assistant hired by Bill Snyder when he became head football coach at Kansas State in 1989, announced Monday he will retire from coaching after 20 years on the Wildcat staff.
Miller, 66, had four different stints at K-State under Snyder, returning in 2009 as co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. He had a 45-year career, including four years as head coach at Southwest Missouri State (now Missouri State).
During his time at K-State, quarterbacks coached by Miller included Heisman Trophy finalist Collin Klein, Chad May, El Roberson, Jake Waters and Jesse Ertz.
