Josh Rouse: K-State’s Travis Blenn, Sheldon Rogge can’t make cut at Bassmaster national championship

It was a rough go this weekend as Kansas State attempted to defend its national crown in the 2017 Carhartt Bassmaster College National Championship in Bemidji, Minn.

The Kansas State bass fishing team of Travis Blenn and Sheldon Rogge failed to make the final day of competition Friday, despite netting the Phoenix Boats Big Bass award with a 4-pound, 14-ounce hog.

Blenn and Rogge combined for just three fish Thursday, making a Day 1 total of 5 pounds, 2 ounces. On Day 2, they again weighed just three fish, but thanks to their big bass their total was 9-7, moving them up to the No.
