MANHATTAN — Coming into the 2015 season, Kansas State junior running back Charles Jones was pegged to be one of the workhorses for the young Wildcat offense.
Unfortunately for Jones, the Wildcats’ leading rusher a season ago, his performance on the field deemed worthy of something else entirely: a benching.
In the first four games this season, Jones scored only a single touchdown with 87 yards on 24 attempts, averaging 3.6 yards. To make matters worse, Jones was replaced as the starting tailback by freshman Justin Silmon and didn’t tally a single carry in K-State’s defeat against Oklahoma State two weeks ago.
