After Kansas State’s 80-68 loss to Oklahoma State on Wednesday, Wildcat coach Bruce Weber was asked if the Octagon of Doom is dead.
The question seemed relevant after the Wildcats’ fourth straight home loss, a first since 2000. It was the first time the program has gone winless at home in the month of February since the 1994-95 year, Tom Asbury’s first season as K-State head coach.
Other than the Kansas game earlier this month, the other three home contests have made Bramlage look more like the Octagon of Room — as in plenty of places to sit — rather than the imposing place it became in the last decade or so.
