Hutchinson lineman Josh Rivas made a non-binding oral commitment on Tuesday to play at Kansas State.
“I’m extremely excited for him,” Hutchinson coach Ryan Cornelsen said. “He took his time with the process. He went to all the schools, went to the spring game, met with the coaches. He sat down with his family and decided what was best for him.
“He did it the right way.”
The recruitment of Rivas, who is 6-foot-6, 335 pounds, had picked up in the spring. He had multiple offers, including from Arkansas, Purdue, Virginia Tech. But his final three schools came down to Kansas State, Kansas and Missouri.
