Four years ago, K-State beat Iowa State 27-17 to close to within a single win in the all-time series.
Then COVID happened, and the Cyclones came within a field goal of tying their greatest-ever win against the Cats, and beat K-State pretty convincingly a year later too.
So here we are, for the third time in six years, with a chance for K-State to make it a one-game series again.
And the Big 12, in all its wisdom, has decided this game doesn’t need to be played annually. What comedy.
Unfortunately, nobody’s really playing for much of anything other than that series record now, as Friday night’s results knocked K-State out of contention for the Big 12 Championship game.
