AUGUSTA, Ga. — Robert Streb promises. He likes Augusta National and playing in The Masters.
“Me and this place don’t get along at the moment,” Streb said.
Streb was obviously frustrated with himself after opening the 2016 Masters shooting a 9-over 81 on Thursday in windy conditions and on the slick Augusta National greens.
Last year, the former Kansas State standout who turned 29 on Thursday made his debut at the Masters. He opened with a round of 80, then followed up the next day with a 76, missing the cut.
Streb showed the lessons learned from last year playing 10 straight holes — 5 thru 14 — in 1-under par.
