Former Kansas State and NFL tight end Henry Childs, a Pro Bowl player with the New Orleans Saints who also had stints with Atlanta, the Los Angeles Rams and Green Bay, has died at age 65.
Saints officials said Childs died Friday in his native Thomasville, Ga. Saints owner Tom Benson, in a statement Saturday, said Childs is remembered as one of the top tight ends in franchise history.
Childs played at K-State from 1971-73, catching 95 passes for 1,365 yards and 10 touchdowns in his career.
A teammate of Archie Manning, Childs played seven seasons with New Orleans.
