It’s not the Orange Bowl, which of course was once the holy grail for a Big 8 team.
But at least it’s in Florida, meaning Kansas State can finally check the state off their bowl game bingo card.
The Wildcats (8-4, 6-3 Big 12) will make their first-ever visit to a Florida bowl game on December 28 as they meet the North Carolina State Wolfpack in the Pop-Tarts Bowl at Camping World Stadium.
The Wolfpack finished all alone in third place in the ACC at 9-3, 6-2. A 13-10 loss to Louisville on September 29 is all that kept NC State from playing Florida State last night, and this team might well have had the horses to beat the Seminoles and completely erase today’s outrage and angst.
