Jesse Ertz will be the starting quarterback at Kansas State, according to The Collegian, the student newspaper at Kansas State.
Ertz, a sophomore, beat out Joe Hubener, Alex Delton and Jonathan Banks.
K-State opens the season Saturday at home against South Dakota.
A number of other sources are saying K-State coach Bill Snyder is holding off on the decision to name a starter.
“It was very competitive throughout,” Snyder said of the QB race on Monday's Big 12 teleconference.
