The four-man quarterback race may not have been much of a race at all.
Jesse Ertz will get the first opportunity Saturday when Kansas State hosts South Dakota in the Wildcats’ season opener at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.
But the sophomore quarterback has clearly separated himself from the rest of the pack, K-State head coach Bill Snyder said Tuesday.
“I think it was a consistency factor, across the board,” said Snyder, who will be handing the ball to a sophomore in the season opener for the first time since 2004 when Dylan Meier was the starter.
