Dimel scores 2 TDs in K-State debut

TWO MINUTE DRILL

First start
Sophomore quarterback Jesse Ertz made his first-career start, but was injured on his first play — a 5-yard keeper on first down. He was carted to the locker room with 10 minutes to play in the first quarter and did not return. Though short-lived, Ertz was the first freshman or sophomore to start a season opener under Bill Snyder since Dylan Meier led the Wildcats to a 27-13 victory over Western Kentucky in 2004.

MHS night
Three former Manhattan High standouts started Saturday night - including redshirt freshman fullback Winston Dimel, junior receiver Deante Burton and junior left guard Terrale Johnson.
